Welcome, welcome to the Black Finch Blog, specifically "Navigating the Medical Professional Lifestyle." The purpose of this blog is to help young medical professionals traverse around aspects of their new lives as medical professionals.
Congratulations, so you've graduated as some sort of medical professional or maybe your still in school but you're getting there soon enough. We all know time flies so this will be relevant to you folks in no time. So you are now a dentist, medical doctor, pharmacist, nurse practitioner, veterinarian or what ever field you decided to pursue. That's great! I am so happy for you and your family. You did it! Pat yourself on the back, ya killed it! But with that comes, debt, new experiences, finding your first job, or buying your first home. Maybe, you're starting to invest in your retirement or getting married. All these things were postponed because you were a professional student but now you're just a professional. Murky water, uncharted territory, the unknown, call it what you like but it's the real world now and its scary. There are plenty of pit falls and bad choices waiting for you at every corner.
However, we all must go through it and this blog is here to help. Every post will be dedicated to detailing experiences and advise from others who either have gone through a similar thing or a knowledgeable expert so that you can avoid unnecessary mistakes. See, I told you Black Finch has got your back. Here, we'll dive into dealing with debt and student loans, because we know we all have it, and work/life balance. Maybe, they'll be articles about buying your first practice or getting your first job in your new career. We might even talk about staying healthy and fit while working long hours or being on call. We have got some great articles lined up for you here.
Also, if you think you know a thing or two, or are the respective expert in a particular area that you know other young professionals could use advice on, please contact us. We would love to feature your article here. We want to build a community of young, healthy medical professionals who kick butt and save lives, meanwhile, outfitting you guys with some amazing looking scrubs too. Who knows? Maybe we can get a healthy discussion going among each other about what the next style or scrub feature needs to come next to help our lives be fashionable and functional.
Ultimately, this blog is for you guys (and me too because I'm a young dentist). Its here to provide advice and relateable stories so all can benefit from those who have already been down that road. However, this will only work if we are interactive, engaged and respectful. With that in mind lets go help others!
